The OGBL defends its absolute majority in 2019
As the 2019 social elections have shown, the OGBL remains unquestionably the strongest union in Luxembourg, both in companies and in the Chambre des salariés.
In eight of the nine groups in which the OGBL stood (in group 8, as usual, it left the field to its trade union ally, the FNCTTFEL national federation), it obtained 1,524,283 votes out of a total of 2,466,126 valid votes, i.e. 61.8% of the votes. This represents an increase of 1.94% over 2013 (59.86%) and 5.38% over 2008. In terms of votes alone, this is the OGBL’s best national result since the creation of the CSL (and probably its best national result ever if we add up the previous results for the Chambre du Travail and the Chambre des Employés Privés).
